Where does glass become art and craftsmanship become tradition? From June 5 to 7, 2026, the center of the glassmaking world will move to the Rückl Glassworks in Nižbor, where the 11th Glass Cutting World Cup will take place.
Open to the public for the first time
This year, the GCWC comes with an exceptional novelty. For the first time in history, the championship is open to the general public, who can watch the work of the best glass cutters from around the world live.
What can you expect?
- Exhibition of competition entries – masterpieces from around the world displayed directly on the glassworks premises.
- Glass cutting show – live demonstration of techniques by leading glass cutters.
- Glassmaking jam at the glassworks – watch glass being made right before your eyes.
- Award ceremony – the moment when you will meet the new masters of glass cutting.
Competition categories
The championship offers four categories for cutters of all levels:
- Hand cutting: Compulsory shape
- Hand cutting: Free form
- Machine cutting – Designers’ competition
- Student category

Age is no barrier – we welcome both experienced masters and promising talents. Students can register not only in the student category, but also in the other categories and measure their skills against professionals.
