Become part of the world elite

We accept applications until March 15, 2026.

There are two ways to register:

1. online – using the form,
2. by mail – BOMMA, Zámecká 1177, 582 91 Světlá nad Sázavou, Attn: Pavel Tomeš.

Important: After submitting your application, we will send you a confirmation within 3 days. Without this confirmation, your participation is not valid.

Exception: Categories 5 (Live Grinding) and 6 (Grinding for the Public) have a different registration process – see category specifications.

You can enter one or more categories:

1. Hand cutting: Compulsory shape
   Work with the shape specified by the organizer. We will send you the semi-finished product by April 15, 2026. Drawings are available for download on the website.
2. Hand cutting: Free form
   Create an original work without restrictions on theme or style. The only rule: the work must be manipulable by a maximum of two people.
3. Machine cutting: Designers’ competition
   Send us your design in CAD format by April 30, 2026. We will produce the selected designs (max. 10) on BOMMA machines. We will inform you of the selection by May 15, 2026.
4. Student category
   Each contestant will receive semi-finished whiskey glasses (2 pcs) and semi-finished water glasses (2 pcs). The condition is to submit 2 glasses (of the same type or a combination of whiskey + water) with a cut motif. The motifs on the glasses can be identical or they can form a matching/thematically connected pair.

Students can also enter other categories.

Yes! Combining cutting with other artistic techniques is permitted. However, glass cutting must be clearly visible—it cannot be completely absent.

After completing their work, contestants should send the following information to the organizer: title, dimensions, weight, materials used, brief description, and a photo or sketch. We will send you a confirmation upon receipt.

Pack the work well, label it with your name, the title of the work, and the category. Include a photo or sketch. We will send you confirmation upon receipt.

The student category submits works collectively through the school.

Ownership:
By submitting your work to the competition, the exhibit becomes the property of the organizer (BMRC Group s.r.o.). You retain the copyright. We may exhibit, photograph, and use your work to promote the competition.

Repurchase:
You can repurchase your work for CZK 1,000 (excluding VAT) no earlier than one month after the competition and no later than three months after the end of the competition.

Exception:
Works that place 1st–3rd or receive any other award cannot be repurchased.

Student category:
Works can be returned to the school free of charge no earlier than one month after the competition.

The works are evaluated by a professional jury of 10–12 members (designers, glass artists, curators, city representatives).

The evaluation is anonymous and focuses on:

• Technical quality and complexity
• Design and originality
• Work with materials – use of the properties of glass and light

Prizes:
In each category: 1st–3rd place + honorable mention, if applicable

The jury may also award the Jury Prize, City Prize, or Craft Prize (not guaranteed).
